Who is responsible
Your World Stance is an independent research project. We are the controller for the data described here. There is no advertising network, no data broker and no third-party analytics script on this site.
Political opinions are special-category data
Under Article 9 of the GDPR, political opinions may only be processed with your explicit consent. That is why the test cannot be submitted until you actively agree. If you decline, nothing is stored and no result is produced.
You can withdraw consent at any time. Withdrawal deletes the answers already stored against your session key.
The four consent tiers
None — you browse; nothing is written down.
Essential — one random session key in your browser so your answers stay attached to your own result.
Analytics — adds coarse context: country derived from a truncated IP, device type, browser family, timezone and referrer. This is what makes group comparisons possible.
Fingerprinting — adds a hashed device fingerprint and the full IP address, kept for a maximum of 24 hours purely to detect duplicate submissions, then deleted automatically.
Retention
Shared links and everything attached to them are deleted seven days after creation by an automated job.
Full IP addresses are purged daily. Truncated country-level data is kept with the anonymised response.
Responses themselves are kept indefinitely in anonymised, aggregated form for research, unless you ask for erasure.
What a shared result reveals
A shared page shows the compass position, the label, and the anonymised community breakdown. It never shows your demographics, your session key, your IP, or anything that identifies you. You can add a password on top.
Your rights
You can request access, correction, erasure, restriction, portability, or object to processing. Use the data request form; requests are handled within 30 days.
